RESTAURANTS Terrace
Garden Restaurant
In the courtyard perched over the valleys, you can dine
from the buffet or savour herbed coal-baked vegetables,
grills and kebabs cooked on the open air barbeque. You
can sample a selection of snacks and dips, with drinks
of local and imported liquors, wines and cocktails from
the bar. Inside the restaurant, tables are set with copper,
white and silver beneath old Newari woodcarving. The specialities
of the house include fresh seasonal vegetables from the
home kitchen garden, either delicately or richly prepared
recipes from Moghul and Continental haute cuisine &
unusual Nepali dishes traditionally prepared for festivals.
The chef makes his own sauces and pickles, as well as
preserves, which can be enjoyed with home baked bread.
Conferences for Concentration
The
Himalayan Horizon is an ideal situation for any group
meeting of short or extended duration within such easy
reach of Kathmandu, yet far from the daily routine in
seclusion, which protects against all disturbances.
The spacious upstair Conference Room can be arranged to
suit your purpose either with tables, chairs and highlighted
blackboard or more informally with floor couches for ease
of communication in smaller groups.
The hotel is exceptionally suited for intensive language
training and orientation programmes for those who will
be working in Nepal, as the surrounding countryside offers
peace, seclusion and a striking introduction to a wide
variety of rural lifestyles and development projects stretching
back over a decade.
Group concessions can easily be arranged, either for travel
parties or conferences, especially for those staying over
an extended period of time.
